A fantastic morning at Bablake Cricket Club as around fifty people came for the planting of the Sycamore Gap sapling. Thank you to all who came today, Phil Mann and those who helped organise the event. It was fantastic to see so many people take there time to come along.

2026 awaits…🏏

End of season review - Sunday XI The Sunday team got off to a terrible start with 3 heavy losses in the first 3 fixtures. With better availability as the season went on the wins began to come for the team as a 7 game unbeaten run saw them fight back up the table to finish 4th.

End of season review - Midweek XI The club made the decision this year to drop down to just the single midweek team after 6 seasons of putting 2 Wednesday sides out. Captain Saus regularly picked up wickets leading what was a very positive season with an unfortunate ending.

Our final team we look at is the 4s, this year being led by Pete. Overall a successful season for the team with us fulfilling every fixture this season and providing many players the opportunity to play, in 2026 we look to have more of the same with maybe promotion in the frame…

End of season review - 3rd team Nagaraga Bommanapalli was again the captain of the 3s. They ended up very comfortably in mid table with just under 200 points for the season, well clear of relegation but also well away from promotion unfortunately. Maybe 2026 is their year?

The 2s were under new leadership this year with Tom Cowley steering the ship. A 5 team relegation dogfight came down to the final day where the 2s came just 4 runs short of a remarkable win and ultimately meant the team finished just 2 points from safety.
