The idea of Tom Cruise blaming Christopher McQuarrie for the last two Mission: Impossible films, which cost millions of dollars and did not perform as expected at the box office, is ludicrous. Not only is it ludicrous, but it would be completely unprofessional for Cruise to cut ties and blame McQuarrie, who has been working alongside him for years. And, as the industry and fans know, Cruise has been a professional from the beginning. It's not that Cruise doesn't want McQuarrie to helm Top Gun 3, but it's about taking a different perspective and artistic approach. Artists want to move on and create or direct new types of films, and their devotion to other projects is crucial. It makes no sense to continue working with the same director or for a director to work with the same actor. It's time to spice things up, take a different approach, and introduce a new face to the game and new collaborations.
