Francesa knows the history of the NCAA Tournament as well as anyone and got his start at CBS in the 1980s as the sport took off in the years after the Bird–Magic title game. Not sure why there’s so much pile-on with him lately. Who cares if he takes a few seconds to look up Hofstra or mixes up when Joel Embiid was at Kansas. He’s a broadcast legend and has forgotten more about college basketball than most people ever knew, including me.
