The feet of an Etruscan folding chair were discovered at the sanctuary of Apollo at Delphi in votive pits sealed off around 420 BC. We known from ancient authors that the Etruscan cities of Caere and Spina had both founded their respective treasuries at Delphi, in Greece.

Scene with what looks like a naval battle depicted on an Etruscan pyxis from Caere (modern day Cerveteri, Italy), c. 630-620 BC. The larger ship on the right seemingly displays a bird-headed figurehead.

Working on a pair of early bronze age axes i am fascinated by the patterns having experienced similar tropes during a migraine So feel i have seen the sacred art that may have inspired the decoration, and wonder what rituals or entheogens brought them about

#Updated on #OCIANA - a timeless #Safaitic text by a man called Keḥsemān. He states that: 'he feared adversity in the year of Caesar and the Persians so, O Allāt, may he be secure'. This event likely refers to Shapur I's invasion of Syria. Find more: ociana.osu.edu/inscriptions/4…
