CCE is part of a pilot project with the Town of East Hampton to test the feasibility of growing seaweed in Accabonac Harbor in order to bioextract excess nutrients that could otherwise fuel harmful algal blooms and lead to anoxia. Seaweeds easily extract it from the water column.
