The Bible never claims we're on a "spinning ball" because it isn't a science textbook, it's a theological and poetic text written in ancient Hebrew. It describes the world in phenomenological language that people at the time could understand (like the sun "rising" or the "four corners of the earth" as a figure of speech for the whole world just as we use today, not literal flat edges). Job 26:7 says God "stretches out the north over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing." That fits remarkably well with a planet suspended in space by gravity/physics, not sitting on pillars or a solid dome. The "firmament" (raqia) in Genesis 1:6-8 simply means an expanse or sky, it's the same word used elsewhere for the atmosphere where birds fly (Genesis 1:20) and where rain comes from. Ancient translations and Hebrew scholarship treat it as the visible heavens, not a hard glass dome. If the Bible were trying to teach modern cosmology, it would have been incomprehensible to its original audience. Instead, it focuses on who created everything and why. Plenty of faithful Christians (including many scientists and astronauts) see no conflict with a spherical, rotating Earth upheld by God's natural laws. I am curious at what specific verses do you think clearly teach a flat, stationary Earth with a solid dome?
