One heck of a last sporting event to cover before my shoulder surgery. This kid killed it and is your @OHSAASports champion at 145lbs. Just wish I could have been mat side with her and not in the stands.

OHSAA State wrestling where the athletic trainer isn’t allowed to be mat side to care for their own athletes and gets to watch from the stands.

@agillatc @nervin04_ You would think especially if they are required to pay for a ticket….

@BaderEvan @nervin04_ That’s bad. Tournament host ATs should be available for athls whose AT didn’t travel, but athlete’s AT should be allowed on the mat.

@CaitrATC Yeah definitely rubbed me the wrong way I was told “you can go wait in the training room if you want because that’s where they’ll go if they get hurt” it was a huge slap in the face

@BaderEvan "Too many people by the mats" is always what I was told. It's ridiculous. I had to watch one of my kids get a massive nosebleed and watch the site staff struggle with it while I had tricks up my sleeve I knew would work for him. I quit going, for a few reasons.

@CaitrATC But if you have a media pass they let you down, but they won’t let medical down, it makes no sense

@nervin04_ And the coaches told me that they didn’t know how to tape an elbow UCL so they had to get someone else

@nervin04_ When I tried to explain the staff said well there are athletic trainers out there. I saw them wearing OSU polos. I’m assuming students and then some certified’s. I got down a little later than I wanted to do my athlete had to be taped by their trainers provided

Been trying to contact someone at the @OHSAASports for the past few days with no luck on how tickets work for the state wrestling meet this weekend? Anyone have a contact to help the AT out to be there for their athletes?
