Her name is Aisha Abubakar S/Fada. She left her home in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, 30 years ago to stay with her mother in Ibadan. Since then, we have not heard from her. We have been searching for her over the years, but all efforts to find her have been unsuccessful.

ON THE DECISION OF THE FEDERAL GOVT TO CANCEL BLT OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP Initially, I had no intention of commenting on the federal government’s decision to cancel overseas scholarships. In fact, until this morning, I deliberately chose to remain silent. However, I have come to recognize that silence, in situations like this, can be mistaken for consent—or worse, become a form of complicity. Given my extensive exposure to both Nigerian and foreign academic systems, particularly in the field of petroleum engineering, I feel compelled to offer my perspective. In an ideal situation, Nigerians would not need to pursue higher education abroad en masse. If our local institutions were adequately equipped, if our academic environment fostered innovation and excellence, then studying overseas would be an option—not a necessity. Unfortunately, this is not the reality. I’ll illustrate this with two recent encounters that underscore the inadequacies in our current system. A PhD student from what is considered the best public university for petroleum engineering in the South-South region reached out to me (screenshot attached). He had come across my research on emulsions and hoped I could guide him in using a particular analytical tool. Though he was conducting his analysis at a Shell (SPDC) laboratory—arguably one of the best-equipped industry facilities in the country—the specific instrument he required was not available. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, this piece of equipment does not exist anywhere in Nigeria. In another instance, a female MSc student contacted me concerning a study on scale formation within oilfield pipelines. She was looking for access to a Tube Blocking Test (TBT) rig—an essential apparatus used to evaluate the tendency of mineral scale to block flowlines under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions. This type of study falls under the broader umbrella of Flow Assurance, a critical area in petroleum engineering that ensures the uninterrupted transport of fluids in pipelines. The TBT rig simulates the buildup of scales in real-time, allowing researchers to assess mitigation strategies effectively. Sadly, I had to inform her that such a rig is not available in any research facility across Nigeria. Now, consider this: had those of us currently in academia not had the opportunity to study abroad, we would not even be aware that such tools exist, let alone understand their application in solving real-world problems in the oil and gas industry. International exposure not only broadens one’s technical competence but also introduces one to global standards of research and innovation. It would have been understandable if the federal government had acknowledged the deplorable state of our academic infrastructure—particularly our laboratories—and used that as a justification to phase out overseas scholarships gradually. If such a policy were accompanied by tangible plans to invest in state-of-the-art equipment, improve university research funding, and enhance the salaries and welfare of academic staff, many of us would have supported it wholeheartedly. It would signal a commitment to building a self-reliant and competitive academic system. Instead, the Minister of Education claimed—falsely and without nuance—that all the courses Nigerians travel abroad to study are readily available within the country, and even better, and that there is therefore no justification for continuing overseas scholarships. This statement is not only misleading but also fails to account for the quality and depth of those programs. Availability does not equate to adequacy. It is deeply disheartening that our policies often fail to reflect the real challenges on the ground. Even more troubling is the likelihood that this new policy will not apply to the children of political elites, many of whom continue to study abroad—often funded by the very public resources denied to others.

HOUSE COMMITTEE ON COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY GOT INAUGURATED TODAY! Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem!!! Earlier today, I, alongside my honorable colleagues got inaugurated as chairman and members of the House Committee on Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA)NG-CARES. The inauguration was presided over by the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen who was ably represented by Hon. Isiyaka Ayekunle Ibrahim, Deputy Chief Whip, House of Representatives. This outing, however, accentuates the House’s commitment to enhancing the impact of community development initiatives. By providing legislative oversight, the committee aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the implementation of CSDA projects and programs across the crooks and corners of Nigeria. In the cause of delivering my inaugural speech, patriotically, I assured Nigerians, especially the vulnerable segment of our population, of my unwavering commitment, through legislative actions, to better the lives of rural and sub-urban commoners by improving access to essential services such as healthcare, education, water supply, and rural electrification. God Bless NG-CARES! God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Under this tweet, you will realise what Allãh Has done for you. You will thank Him more, and realize that don't just be a Muslim by name, teach your kids Islam. Teach the. Qur'an, its meanings & make them grounded in Tawheed. Every story like this, ask questions and by Allãh you'd realise they never knew Allãh. They had no idea what Tawheed is. Be the ones guiding your kids to the Deen not them being the ones to ask you to pray. How can two unguided parties guide one another? After making efforts, then pray Allãh SubhanaHu wa Ta'ala keep you & your offspring firm on the Deen. Alhamdulillah 💚🤲

This was me as a Muslim. Made sure everybody prayed, wore my hijab and convinced my mother to do the same if we went out together. Well, I’m proud to be in the body of Christ now.🥹 I’ve realized that Christ lies at the end of every honest attempt to find God.❤️

If you have been in the oil and gas industry, you will understand what I am about to say. There is a Yoruba oligarchy that exists in the industry. These people have ventured so deeply into the private sector, have achieved so much for themselves & have developed the people around them; mostly young Yoruba experts that are also taking over gradually. This is an appreciation tweet. When you find yourself in a position of opportunity, either a political appointment or growth by hierarchical development in an organization, as an expert, one of your achievements would be counted based on how many others in your profession have you developed or established to a position of advantage that they can stand on their own, and one day take over from you. Anything short of this is a failure. In my own opinion. I said, my opinion. If you have yours, say it.

Nasser Bazza, you and your principal are heartless if this is all you can concoct as evidence against the poor girl. At a time you have bandits sacking people from their homes, your entire effort is how to lockup a girl that is speaking up against your failures? Shame on you all. Shameless people. The God of the oppressed will take charge of your affairs. This video was poorly and heavily edited to pass a laughable narrative & give the dog a bad name so you can hang it. BETWEEN HAMDIYYA SIDI AND THE PEOPLE OF SABON BIRNIN DAJI : Hamdiya asked us to destroy public infrastructure: S/Birnin Daji women, say Women of Sabon Birnin Daji in Wurno Local Government Area have revealed that Hamdiyyaa Sidi, who claimed to be a humanitarian worker had asked them to revolt against the government and take over government quarters being constructed in Wamakko Local Government. According to some of them who attended the gathering organised by Hamdiyya Sidi with a view to benefiting from her so-called humanitarian aid, said in a viral video that Hamdiyya deceived them by telling them she was going to give them some food assistance in order to help them reduce their hardship. According to Hawwa'u, Jamila Sa' adu,Umaima and Hadiza, who were among those invited by Hamdiyya Sidi, said she came to them and pretented to be an aid worker coming to give them food assistance being them among the internally displaced persons in Wurno Local Government Area. "Instead of her to distribute food for us, Hamdiyya brought out her cell phone and started recording, insulting our Governor using harsh and abusive words on him,and also incited us to go and break government houses in Wamakko Local Govenrment Area and take them over. " She also brought us from our matrimonial houses against the wish of our husbands in the name of giving us food assistance, but later ended up deceiving us and cheating on us. "We want the authorities concerned to help us in the fight for our rights, which were infringed upon by Hamdiyya Sidi by bringing us out of houses and using our pictures for her ulterior motive. "She lied to us that she was going to give us some food being us displaced persons, but at the end, we dispersed empty-handed without anything from Hamdiyya,"they averred. The women commended Gov. Ahmed Aliyu's administration for giving security much attention in their area, a situation that had given their husbands the opportunity to undertake farming activities during the last cropping season. Also speaking in the same viral video, the Chief Iman of the village, Imam Malam Umar, said the people of Sabon Birnin Daji now enjoy peace as they sleep with their two eyes closed unlike what was obtained during the immediate past administration. He commended Gov. Aliyu for the food assistance and attention given to the internally displaced persons in the state. In his words,'the Village Head of sabon Birnin Daji, Marafa Yakubu, refuted the claim by Hamdiyya of being an indigene of the area, saying he neither knows her grand father nor any of her family members in the area. He appealed for legal action against Hamdiyya for creating tension among his people by inciting them to break the law and dissent. Marafa Yakubu also thanked Gov Ahmed Aliyu for the proactive measures put in place to guarantee the safety of lives and property of people in the area

What a crying shame. Apart from the atrocious grammar, the fact that you can stoop so low as to fight this young lady because she called you out on your responsibilities is a sad indicator of the state of affairs in your State. Stop this show of shame.

You see this "Class" thing in marriage, it is super important. This is inspired by "You can't buy a V8 engine and complain of fuel consumption "😁. So my boss' daughter is getting married this weekend. She was born & raised in the UK. A Well-read lawyer & very disciplined. He is the best boss anyone can pray to have, and the best father to his kids, no doubt. So his entire family that lives in the UK traveled to Nigeria to attend the wedding. They came 2 weeks before the date. Among the VIPs is a couple that also live abroad, and the kids all born & raised there. The oldest male son of this VIP family aged 28yo has never been to Nigeria, and the parent want him to get married to a Nigerian lady. You know our women are some of the best you can find anywhere in the world. Trust me. 😁. So the parent decided to bring the boy with them to Nigeria, by chance he'd see a Nigerian lady to marry. But they didn't choose to go to Oyo village to attend the marriage oh, nor even Ajegunle or other Lagos suburbs, and they chose to attend the wedding of the daughter of one big man😁 in Lekki. E get why!🙌 A friend, a very dear friend to me once suggested to me to date & marry his younger sister. Same father, same mother. She is a beauty Ma sha Allãh, well read & very disciplined. Just a lady anyone would wish to marry. But something was obvious that she wasn't in the same league with me. She grew up in plenty, and I didn't. I believed strongly that I will make it in sha Allah, but I wasn't ready to take the risk of not being able to meet up with her needs. So, I explained to my dearest friend & he understood my position, even though he wasn't happy. I didn't grew up in lack too, but I didn't grow up in opulence. I attended one of the best nursery schools in my area in Kaduna then, Yarmouk Nursery & Primary school. We grew up having the best from our dad, but I knew how to look before I leap. Alhamdulillah for today, for yesterday & for what is yet to come.❤️
