Just like the UK. The Canadian government are sending police to people's doors who are accused of saying "hurty words" against the Prime Minister.

New Poll Shows Canadian Seniors Overwhelmingly Support 25% Home Equity Tax
OTTAWA — A new survey released this week suggests Canadian seniors overwhelmingly support bold measures to address the country’s growing debt burden including a proposed 25% tax on home equity.
According to the poll, nearly nine in ten seniors said they would support the measure as a “responsible step” to stabilize the country’s finances and ensure long-term economic sustainability.
Analysts say the result reflects a strong sense of civic responsibility among older homeowners.
“Canadian seniors understand the importance of sacrifice,” one commentator explained. “They recognize that difficult decisions may be necessary.”
However, the poll revealed one notable detail in the methodology.
When respondents were asked follow-up questions, the majority clarified they supported the tax only if it applied to future homeowners and younger generations.
Support dropped sharply when respondents were asked whether the tax should apply to existing home equity accumulated over the past several decades.
“Of course we support it,” one retiree said.
“Canada needs bold action… starting with the next generation.”
