@CheoWalker @JohanzelV Unacceptable for studio that makes AA games not to release a major title in at least 6 years

@JohanzelV Two small budget games, while Tim works on the main game. Keeper was an Amnesia Fortnight game that they decided to actually develop.

Two games underperforming is one thing, but claiming the whole studio is in trouble is pure Bull Shit

Is Xbox's DOUBLE FINE in trouble? 😐 It seems like their last two games flopped badly... 🎮 Steam Concurrent Players: - KILN = Peaked at 193 players. - KEEPER = Peaked at 191 players. 🎮 Xbox Player stats: - KILN is ranked #101 in "most played games" despite launching on Game Pass last week... They're a unique studio... But they NEED a hit at this stage! 🤔 Can DOUBLE FINE survive in this new era of Xbox?

@kiwitalkz Playstation is the one publisher that can sustain high costs. First party games account for roughly 10-15% of their revenue. Their exclusive games is what helps sell the consoles. They don't need to be highly profitable, like other publishers

Sony are in a tricky spot because they are essentially stuck between a rock and a hard place. They have conditioned their audience to expect highly graphical cinematic games yet that isn't really sustainable with the cost of development as it is (and only rising) Astro Bot is my favorite Sony game of all time and I personally would prefer they pulled back on the scale a bit on their games but sales show that isn't what the PS audience wants. The cost of game development essentially doubles every generation so I have no idea how Sony is going to manage these massive budgets in the PS6 generation. Given the size of Naughty Dog now, salaries in LA being so high, the amount of time it's been in development, plus overheads and marketing I could easily see Intergalactic costing over $400 million.

@TheBigPlume Crazy if they don't leave next-gen consoles behind. COD needs something to reignite the franchise. A graphical upgrade would surely help

@Baldprick271 @Matt_Pinner Google AI: "Can a person survive a 20 story fall into the ocean?" "Survival of a 20-story fall into the ocean is almost always fatal. At such heights, the physical properties of water result in an impact force comparable to hitting a solid surface 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲."

@FonzGaming @Griggity If MJ didn't exist and LeBron played in the 90's, he would have gotten similar attention I am MJ>>>>LeBron, but sports nowadays isn't driven by singular super stars. Same thing with Music and Michael Jackson in the 90's. Social media doesnt allow for it

@Matt_Pinner Hitting the water from that height is just like landing on concrete, so, NO, the first person is very likely NOT fine. The second person may be alright...unless they get tangled up in the parachute lines and drown.

@PigeonGoGaming Or you can buy a PC, a Steam deck, an upcoming Steam Machine, or through practically any tv screen. You don't need an Xbox at all.

@FunSpeculation Starfield is still far and away the most hyped release of this generation. The 30min Xbox showcase in 2023 was incredible. Elder Scrolls, to its detriment, will be compared to the Witcher 4 leading up to its release. Gamers have a lot less trust in Bethesda nowadays

@Septic_Sauce @ItzTheOnlySon Early screenings are highly positive. It was compared to Fury Road. Non stop adrenaline rush of a movie. Completely different from Weapons. Same writer/director

I like where Zach’s head is at💯 other directors need to take notes when it comes to adapting video games into movies🫡 this is how you get an audience🫡
Culture Crave 🍿@CultureCrave

Zach Cregger on his 'Resident Evil' movie 🧟‍♂️ "I wanted this movie to tell the story of what would happen if some idiot like me were dropped into the world of a Resident Evil game. So Austin plays not some badass with combat experience like Leon but just an average dude. That makes his experience of moving through this hellscape way more interesting to me than somebody who’s psychologically equipped" "A pistol [is] the first weapon he acquires in the movie. Just like in the games, as he progresses through the world he’ll get better weapons. It’s such a fun moment when you’re playing RE and you finally get the shotgun or the machine gun and I wanted that sense of progression to be in the movie" "Resident Evil is of course a franchise that’s got a ton of zombies but it’s also got all sorts of weirder monstrosities. Really wanted to make sure that we never got a handle on what kind of dangers we’d find. It’s not just a zombie movie. The T-Virus can have a lot of different effects and I wanted to make sure we had a variety of adversaries" "The slow discovery of horrific elements is something I really love about Resident Evil. It’s not a run and gun action game. It’s about tension and atmosphere and so I really wanted to lean into that. As much as there’s plenty of action in the movie it’s equally important to honor the dread. That moment when you look down a dark passage and you know something awful is waiting in that darkness for you. You don’t want to go forwards but you can’t go back. That’s the sweet spot"

When a title like Indiana Jones sells barely 500k units on a 100-million-player base, it proves two contradicting things: it isn't worth devaluing the brand, and at the same time that fewer than a million PlayStation players would actually care to even consider switching to Xbox.

@FonzGaming It is because the PS5 is jail broken. People were buying PS5 games, refunding them, and then using the jailbroken PS5 to continue playing the refunded games. This online check in only exists for first 2 weeks of purchase. It is permanent after

@Baldprick271 I don't see why they would give you a 30 day check in at all? Especially because their "14 day return policy" requires that you don't download the game at all. Very strange.

@Baldprick271 @Septic_Sauce @GoodGameKofi I dont think they mind. The thing is that it infinitely grows game pass to have the content. Plus they have a huge volume capacity. They released like 13 games last year no exaggeration. They have so many studios and ip. They can just keep pumping stuff out and be fine

@chaosprimeZ @satyanadella I meant in the sales sense. I love Indy. Top 5 game of this generation. It sold only 500k on Steam. Playstation it sold 500k, but released 6 months later. Hellblade 2 under 200k on Steam. South of Midnight under 100k on Steam
