I'd start Jorrel Hato at left-back. That's his natural position, it saves Chelsea millions in the market, and it also opens up one more centre-back spot. Alonso already said he wants 4-5 centre-backs, not 10. For me, Colwill, Lacroix, Fofana and Hato are guaranteed. That leaves one place up for grabs between Acheampong, Tosin and Anselmino.. If Benoît Badiashile has been told he's no longer part of the project, then why is Roméo Lavia any different? Both have struggled with injuries, both have missed huge chunks of football, and Chelsea can't keep building a squad around "he'll be back soon." For me, moving Lavia on clears the pathway for Essugo, gives Chelsea more certainty in midfield, and lets the club plan around players who are actually available. Football doesn't reward potential if you're always in the treatment room. This is one conversation Chelsea can't avoid forever..
