So Huw Edwards gets a suspended sentence for buying and making pornographic images of children, while peaceful environmental defenders seeking to prevent social catastrophe get 3, 4 and 5 years. Some justice, this.

The longest sentence handed down to a violent racist rioter this week is shorter than the sentences imposed on entirely peaceful environmental protesters last month. Labour must repeal the Tory laws that treat peaceful protest more severely than violent disorder and assault.

There are occasions when nuance is required and empathy has to be extended to both sides. Nazi riots isn’t one of them.

Yvette Cooper says she *might* abandon the law that criminalises peaceful protests. RT if she must.

Our justice system has decided that people planning to stop traffic are more deserving of prison time than those who rape us.

I find it very alarming that so many agree with the protest sentance. It doesn't matter whether you agree with JSO it matters that you have the right to protest....this is a legal overreach and we should all be worried.

The lengthy sentences on the 'Just Stop Oil' protestors are grotesquely disproportionate. As for the judge forbidding them to explain why they were protesting, it looks. like fascism. I deplore it.

Every time we allow the door to get inched further open like this a new "normal" becomes acceptable. That candidate has said things so shocking and appalling that the party should be on its knees. Journalists should be hammering at the Reform Party door demanding action
