📢 CAMPAIGN UPDATE We are making significant progress in our fight to get our cold council homes insulated! 🛠️ Works are progressing on the first homes and appear to be of a good standard. 🌡️ Tenants are reporting they can already feel the difference from the roof insulation.

At our February meeting, we scrutinised the progress and quality of the retrofit works. We have spent too many winters fighting for the warm, dry homes we deserve, and we've seen previous deadlines come and go. We will continue to hold United and Harrow Council to account.

📢 CAMPAIGN UPDATE United Infrastructure have been contracted by Harrow to complete the retrofit of all remaining council homes on Bancroft Gardens. According to project manager George Nwaneri, this should be done by mid-April. The end is in sight, but we are not complacent.

💰Due to delays to retrofit works, Harrow Council have made a £600 payment to cover winter fuel bills. 😡BUT they've excluded tenants who aren't part of the legal claim. ✏️We've written to the Council to make it clear we ALL deserve to be able to heat our homes this winter.

At yesterday's meeting we heard from Jamie Hignett of architectural co-op Unit38. He spoke about how modern, efficient retrofit standards could massively reduce energy costs for tenants, as well as reducing carbon emissions. But does @harrow_council have the political will?

This evening we interrupted a gathering of Harrow councillors to hand out our petition for insulated homes. We got a verbal commitment from Cllr Mina Parmar to meet with us. Turns out tenants are harder to ignore than an email!
