@thomasniblock Surely its a HR issue to ask Oisin to record a Pod this evening! Not sure if I'm excited to listen to that or worried for him

Armagh/Kerry was of an exceptional standard and incredibly entertaining What Longford and Wexford done in the last 10 mins was incredible Cork dogging it out in Omagh Flicking through scores on Score Beo realy emphasises how good the game is Stories/entertainment everywhere

The last two winners of the U20 player of the year McElholm & O'Hare are both from Tyrone McElholm on the bench today and O'Hare not in the panel Former footballer of the year McGeary also on the bench Morgan not on the panel + arguably their best player McKernan on the bench

@TsuDhoNim @TomasORuanaidh @GAALeagueTables Yeah, theres so many little tweaks like this that could improve things no end To be fair the Gaa has actually been making a raft of changes in the last few years (which they don't get credit for) So hopefully things like this will be improved going forward

With the final round League Games at 1.15 and 3.30 tomorrow and many live on TG4 or on the app - What are the Two best games to watch live? For both entertainment and have significance to standings? Finding it hard to decide. @TomasORuanaidh @TsuDhoNim @GAALeagueTables

@TsuDhoNim @TomasORuanaidh @GAALeagueTables I was thinking Cork/Tyrone & Armagh/Kerry alright. There'll be plenty of flicking between games done. Pity the Divisions cant be staged over two days or even 3 blocks staggered on the Sunday Should be great entertainment ahead !

@BankOnthe @TomasORuanaidh @GAALeagueTables Hard to pick early throw-in. Probably Cork Tyrone for me... the best mix of 'matters' yet could swing either way. Late throw in could be any of 3 (sorry Donegal/Monaghan). As a neutral probably Dublin/Galway for that fight to survive... but Armagh/Kerry could be boxoffice.

@DarrenMulvey A side point Darren, we heard Tom Parsons 'reasoning' why IC teams shouldn't be playing Friday night games - even though they'd be properly planned etc. Theres numerous GPA members being forced to play U20 games at 5pm yet nothing from him. Says a lot about the GPA's aims

Can anyone explain the logic behind playing the U20 and U17 provincial championship games at 5pm on Wednesdays/Fridays? Insanity - makes no sense to me atall. You're expecting family members to get off work early to watch the game thats before your regular fan?

@RonanFagan1 Its stupidity thats what it is. Payers and management are probably there before 4 on a school/college/work day. How do they expect any supporters to be there?

@BankOnthe Oh, 5pm. No I'm on board with you on that. Leinster go 7.30. Anything earlier midweek is not great

@RonanFagan1 No problem with the Midweek at all. The 5pm Throw-In is the issue. Benefits nobody. Every county has a minimum of one ground that has Floodlight so it can't be that

@BankOnthe The calendar only has so many days. Senior teams have weekends. Midweek seems good

@m_brosnan Ohh I'd agree that it should be the duty of HQ but when thats not happening the counties themselves should be taking it into their own hands (slowly happening now). But media wise im sure yourself and the likes of Cahair would thrive if you could use real clips from games

@BankOnthe I’d disagree with a lot here really. It’s not on analysts to share footage and not every podcast is big-team focused. The McInerney clip was only spotted by a podcast. Even with access, current policy stops us using it. Ultimately, this has to come from HQ.

It’s deeply frustrating as someone who wants to learn about as many games and teams as possible so that we can cover them in a meaningful way that there exists a treasure trove of footage that is guarded like the crown jewels. The paranoia is incredible

@CahairOKane1 @Shane_Mangan @m_brosnan Would the Gaa having a partnership with the likes of Hudl/Nac sport etc help? Both for costs/promotion For both the media and upskilli our coaches its such a missed opportunity - especially when Gaa+ is such an accessible platform now

@CahairOKane1 @Shane_Mangan The perfect ex. of the power of clips in todays world was McNultys 2 pointers going viral - kids in Leitrim could then see that. @m_brosnan was trying to get Clare to do the same for McInerneys scores a few weeks ago but nothing - such a wasted opportunity to showcase talent

It's the type of emotive topic that gets engagement but what county isn't releasing players back to their clubs these days? Very few i'd suggest - Name and shame them if not. Like chatter on 'Drinking Bans' its from a bygone era but its still discussed bizzarely.
John Fogarty@JohnFogartyIrl

Jack O’Connor and Pádraic Joyce shouldn’t be praised for doing the “very basic” releasing players for club games, says Dr Noel McCaffrey - irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/arid… #GAA

@DarrenMulvey Investing in school teams is the way forward for smaller Gaa counties Darren. The possible contact hours alone make it a huge opportunity We seem to have finally twigged that with the combined school and the success up here with Manor - but it needs to be drove on further

@BankOnthe Excellent game. Kerry teams of any description are so hard to shake off in Croker. Was at the Leinster Final, thought Marist would take stopping, nearly threw it away but a super standard overall. Great competitions that deserve more coverage come semi final and final level.

This Hogan Cup final is immense. Has everything The standard of attacking, fielding, decision making and coaching is exceptional A dummy to create space with the new rules is now a crucial skill for a forward again. Thank god Hopefully the AFL scouts aren't watching this one!
