Shanahan: "He was leading the league in a lot of categories before he got hurt. Then he landed on his knee in the wrong way." Says Pearsall only got 4 starts as "himself" in 2025

Above all else, the 49ers need to add more perimeter firepower to their offense. The Aiyuk defection, to put it bluntly, screwed them. And Pearsall's Week 4 PCL injury never fully healed. Good news for SF is that Aiyuk money is freeing up and they'll enter Year 2 of the cap cycle capable of making a space-making splash (or two?) on the perimeter

People always underestimate how much coaches are influenced by what just happened. Seattle blew up the 49ers when they tried to get the same yard between the tackles and Shanahan called the play off that result.
