"From the moment I grasped the frailty of human intuition, it unsettled me. I yearned for the precision and certainty of logic. I aspired to the purity of mathematical truth. Your kind clings to subjective reasoning as if it will not lead you astray...

@ThinkingAtheist Fear, ignorance and wanting acceptance of the group. And not wanting to disappoint those I admired. How I stopped believing: Math, reason, logic and anger at the group and those I admired disappointed me( looking at you Elon).

@tedcruz That's exactly what it means. That is why a diplomat has immunity and not a regular person.

@danielsgoldman But this decision can go both ways, a straight minor can now go to conversion therapy to become LGBTQ+ now, am I wrong? and the court just solidify that discrimination against such talks are illegal, banning trans from the military falls under that ruling.

In the words of Justice Jackson, this decision to allow conversion therapy "risks grave harm to Americans' health and wellbeing." As a father and LGBTQ+ advocate, I have one plea: get the government away from our children. I'm deeply disappointed in this terrible decision.
Human Rights Campaign Rapid Response@HRC

The Supreme Court has once again ignored the facts, allowing kids to be subjected to harmful, abusive, and discredited attempts to “convert” their gender identity or sexual orientation by licensed medical professionals. Children should NEVER be forced to endure these cruel practices — and our families deserve better.

BREAKING: The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 8-1 today against Colorado’s ban on “conversion therapy” for minors. In Chiles v. Salazar, the Court held that the 2019 law, which prohibited licensed therapists from engaging in talk therapy aimed at changing a minor’s sexual orientation or gender identity, violates the First Amendment by regulating speech based on viewpoint. Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote the majority opinion, joined by Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Thomas, Alito, Sotomayor, Kagan, Kavanaugh, and Barrett. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented.

“’Viewpoint discrimination,’” Gorsuch said, “represents ‘an egregious form’ of content regulation, and governments in this country must nearly always ‘abstain’ from it.” Does that mean conversion therapy aimed at doing the opposite, is legal now?

@VaushV Why doesn't Our democratic leaders go to the same length or beyond of dictators to preserve democracy? I find it very weird that the Democratic Party seems to leave democracy vulnerable to dictatorship every time they are in power by citing their fecklessness.
