Today Israel celebrates her 76th birthday. Born in 1948 she is thousands of years old. She's known miraculous moments beyond articulation & days too painful to weep. May you know, o Israel, only the sweetness of your honey & the peace you carry in your soil & soul. Happy Bithday!

Too many have fallen so that we can rise. Too many have given their lives so that we can be free. Too many of Israel's best have made the ultimate sacrifice for the hope of a brighter tomorrow. Today, on Yom HaZikaron we remember them. Today we ensure their candle never goes out.
