I just took down posts about the @TIME Gaza cover as a photo showing the apparent hunger of the participants clearly looked staged, that is, a separate angled shot of the cameraman who took the photo made clear that the subjects were posing for the photographer and not, as it appeared on the Time cover, waiting desperately for food. A subsequent video of the scene that was shared seemed to suggest that while that photo was staged, the subjects in the video seemed desperate for food. A @GAZAWOOD1 rebuttal credibly called into the question that video as also being staged. As a result of the above, I took down all posts on the scene as I cannot definitely determine what the truth is on the ground in that scene. While I think it is likely that access to food is challenging in Gaza, I hold Hamas entirely responsible due to their theft of aid and unwillingness to release the hostages to end the war.
