@Tater_Tottt Our neighborhood is like this. The community mailbox station is at the entrance to the subdivision and within walking distance. It makes me sad though….it’s one of only two things I don’t like about our beautiful house. I miss having a mailbox and a mail carrier at home.

$400K house but I gotta drive to the community mailbox station to check my mail? Absolutely not!

@streetnoodle @Romy_Holland I babysat in high school for $5. Not per hour, total. Thought I hit the jackpot when they gave me $10 after 3hrs and had to ask if they realized they overpaid me, ha ha! Times have certainly changed.

@BarefootKT @Romy_Holland When I started babysitting, the going rate was 50 cents an hour. And no one had just one kid.

i’m trying to find a part time babysitter in july and a ppl keep telling me their rate is $30/hr. this seems high to me? babysitting one kid for a few hours is a low skill and pretty chill job. it’s equivalent in skill to being a fast food employee, which pays $20/hr.

@skumWgmi Show the receipt... My wife and I did the same thing on $90 worth of groceries, whet back, go the same items and it was $72. Nice try though.

My wife and I were talking last night about groceries. I pulled up an old Walmart order from January 2020. 30 items. $70.20. Added every single one back to the cart today. $165.42. Same 30 items. Same store. Same cart. $95 more more in six years. They told us inflation was temporary. They told us it was under control. Then wtf happened to my grocery bills.

Finished 100 Years of Solitude. One of the best written books I’ve read. Will recommend it to exactly zero people.
