Great, confident debut by Barnaby Martin. Eerie, unsettling atmosphere isn't a good thing in a military parade but is perfect in a novel. Loved it.

@JonKenna0000000 You're right. I had to lean into the drama at the end, but I wanted to try to maintain the atmosphere as long as possible. I'm trying to do the same for the sequel. Fingers crossed it works. Thanks again.

@BarnabyMartin You're very welcome, Barnaby. I find that eerie/atmospheric is very neglected in books, film and TV. Lots of things start out that way but then feel obliged to ramp it up and become ridiculous. So glad you didn't do that in your book.
