Continuing today are the Barnard College Chemistry Department Senior Thesis Presentations - Rafi Brinn at 10:30am in ALT 805 & Erica Christensen at 3:30pm in DIA LL104 come hear the culmination of their research.

Chemistry major Rafaela Brinn also won the Division of Physical Chemistry Outstanding Student Poster Award at the Spring 2019 American Chemical Society National Meeting in Orlando, Florida for her poster "Effect of Strain on Graphene Functionalization Dynamics"!

Barnard College Chemistry major Rafaela Brinn is an Honorable Mention for a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship!

Happening today! The department is having our bi-annual Program Planning lunch and seminar. Guest Speaker will be Prof. Nicholas Ball of Pomona College at Noon TODAY in the Sulz. Parlor (Barnard Hall).

Coming this Tuesday Feb. 19th the department is hosting Dr. Zhongyue Yang (MIT) on "Visualizing Chemistry: Two Stories of Computational Simulations" from Noon-1pm in 307 MIL

Today is Chemistry Department's Program Planning Day! Starting at Noon in the Sulzberger Parlor.

Mon. Oct. 29th is the Chemistry Departments Program Planning Day! We have a Luncheon from 12-1:30pm in Barnard Hall Sulzberger Parlor, which will include a seminar from @JasonGillmore (Hope College). Later in the day there will be a Pedagogy seminar from 3-3:45 in Alt. 806.

Today the Chemistry department is hosting Chris Graves (Swarthmore) for a guest lecture on Overcoming A1(III) Limitations. He'll be in Alt. 903 , where lunch will be served.

Friday, 10/5 Prof. Crowther will be hosting Kathryn Knowles (U. of Rochester) who will be giving a lunch seminar (12-1pm in Alt 530) on the synthesis, electrochemical characterization, and ultrafast spectroscopy of nanostructured materials, w/ student meeting 1-2pm.

TODAY the dept. is hosting guest speaker Michelle Personick (Wesleyan). From 12:15 - 12:45 the prof. will meet with students in Alt. 8-6, THEN 1-2 in Alt. 202 the prof. will give a seminar on "Growing Model Catalysts through the Tailored Design of Shaped Bimetallic Nanoparticles"

Today Prof. @dcmerrer is hosting a guest speaker! Dr. Mikhail Reibarkh a Senior Principle Scientist from Merck who is giving a talk about LED-NMR as a powerful tool for studying photochemical reactions! It will be From 3-4pm in 805 Altschul, with snacks served.

Today the Chemistry department will be hosting guest speaker Andrew Berke from Smith College. Exploring the effects of short-chain alchohols on the bulk-phase reaction between glyoxal and ammonium sulfate.
