@Richard53160893 @GrahamSmyth I don't know this Dave you speak of but to quote the club last summer... "Earlier this week, Willy Gnonto and his representatives were informed by the club that he would not be sold this summer." Reckon that's pretty conclusive that there was no release clause.

@Richard53160893 @GrahamSmyth What have I made up exactly? All that I've stated is already public knowledge. We signed him on a 5 year contract in September 2022. That means he was already contracted to us until September 2027. He's now contracted until Summer 2028. Again, what did I make up exactly????

@GaryWri12220911 @GrahamSmyth We've made a profit of around £90m in his window. Balancing the books next season shouldn't really be an issue.

@BarnesDes @GrahamSmyth I assume for Gnonto it means a significant pay increase and a potentially stronger negotiation fee for us with that 12 month extension. If we go up he stays and if we don't he would be the first to leave to balance the books.

@kylenewbould How would there not be money there after the money the club has taken in this summer??? Even spending £30m in the remaining days of transfer window will leave the club with a profit of at least £70m for this window.
