The first car I ever bought was this Ford Fiesta Mk1 - I paid £90 when I was 15 for it w(hen my Mum and Dad were on holiday) from a local garage, who had it in as a part exchange.
I didn't make any profit out of it, but through buying it I learnt how to drive, how to service a car, how to change brakes, how to change a clutch, how to change suspension parts, how to paint bodywork with spraycans, how to change a tyre and how to fix windscreen washer jets.
All in all, a lot of lessons learnt and I will always remember the plate - BVM 47Y. I sold it for £90 after a couple of years, but I believe they crashed and scrapped it - shame.
Who can remember their first car AND the reg??

@speckled_jim2 Familiar with the outcome. We have not tried since 👍

@StansaidAirport @dcms1000 @Barnesy62 ‘what’s the difference between god and a pilot? God doesn’t think he’s a pilot’.

@PolitlcsUK @e_casalicchio I think we’d all like to see cuts to welfare and net zero - FFS, how out of touch are they 🤦♂️

@history99917180 @dcms1000 Didn’t realise you met my instructor on the Hawk at RAF Valley 😳
English

@dcms1000 @Barnesy62 Precisely my friend. I was trained with a good old fashioned map, compass and stop watch. And the driver constantly shouting ‘look out the big window at the front’.
English

@dcms1000 I bet you’ve never used one of these. It can convert gallons to knots and wind drift.

Wednesday Wings Quiz: How many people remember how to use one of these?
English

@history99917180 @dcms1000 All perfectly accurate, except tea for me. And beer on the ground obviously 🙄
English

@Barnesy62 @dcms1000 Good man. I’ll admit, I’m surprised. Thought you just jumped into the cab, flashed it up and sat back with a hot cup of coffee.

@JonA2i @Gabriel64869839 Yep, reported a host today as fraud - nearest description. Deep fake not on the list.
English

I have yet to see ONE. Only seen people complaining about it. I don't know, man.

This site has become almost unusable because of how many different fake images there are of Farage beating up Andrew Bailey - never seen anything this number... it's like every second post!

@dontforgetchaos @DownloadFest Jonny, leave your drone at home 🙏😜. I don’t fly until Sunday morning and not early so probably won’t even wake you up - but depends on the JD. Enjoy the weekend 👍
English

Packing for @DownloadFest going well. Wet wipes, Jack Daniel’s, towel. Popcorn. Wet clothes, hot weather clothes. Jaffa cakes. Cider. Silly hats. Think that’s it.

@scottyeders During the three-month Normandy campaign alone, 151 Hawker Typhoon pilots were killed in action - 22% of those participating.

@Destroye83 JO-X. There is an IWM video featuring this aircraft being refuelled and rearmed in 1944.

@CleansedTweets @Bomber_Z1000 Wife has to have a filling next week - £190. Surprised the dentist has enough time between holidays 😳
English

@Bomber_Z1000 expensive, but lower than I though, thought maybe 150 pound.
English

Finished at the dentist in #China. Two cavities filled plus resin filler for a gap between two teeth. £90.
It took 30 minutes. No frills. It literally felt like lay back, don’t moan, pay, now fuck off. 😂 But I am happy with the results.

@dcms1000 If it’s blue - do. On the Boeing ECL, anything blue is ignored 🤔.

I'm eternally grateful to all
My fellow RAF friends who indulged my passion for photography- I came off a tanker and followed this GR1 for a bit - think it was 16 Sqn ? My aim was to capture that moment @Barnesy62 @shinytwosqn @Devonman101

English

@spannerhandsxv @BlickyIan @shinytwosqn @Devonman101 II(AC) Sqn were Jaguars when I first got to RAF Laarbruch. Same tail codes as you describe above. 👆
English

@Barnesy62 @BlickyIan @shinytwosqn @Devonman101 IIRC, 2 Sqn aircraft at Laarparts were single letter Tail Codes which spelt out “SHINEY II AC” (the “II” being in Roman Numerals). XV had, of course one ac in single letter code - this being “F” and carrying the name “MacRobert’s Reply” 🙂.

@dcms1000 B777 - best Airbus Boeing ever built 😜. A lot more power and much less information complexity than a B789. Rated, but not flown the Dreamliner. Would like a HUD though, like the old days.
