Hurrah - a first skein of naturally coloured wool from the newly begun seasonal spice winter dye project - this gloriously glowing rich warm yellow was yielded from botanically home dyeing with dried cloves & is a rather perfect shade for brightening these short dim light days...

It’s been hit and miss in the veg plot this year! But this #cauliflower is a good result!

Not ideal Sashmis, we have girls approaching 360 days gestation and you decide to fire yours out at 312 days!! Well I suppose it’s one day longer than last year. Looks like there’s some intensive care required here. Wish us luck.

Tough time for Bea (one of our alpacas) - she needed to have her eye removed 12 days ago, followed by a small ulcer then developing on the remaining eye. The vets have been brilliant. Unfortunately she aborted her cria at 9 months yesterday. Smallholding life is really hard 😢
