“DEI training made me do it” is the new “we were afraid of being called racist”. The last time British police used that excuse, it was Rotherham. 1,400 children. They said political correctness stopped them acting. Then it turned out officers hadn't just failed to act. Some were complicit. Some abused victims themselves. The 'afraid of racism' line wasn't an explanation. It was a cover story for something far worse. Now Hampshire Police officers are running the same playbook. An eighteen-year-old said “I've been stabbed, I can't breathe”. They handcuffed him and let him die. And their explanation is that DEI training made them feel pressured. Every time police catastrophically fail in this country, an ideological excuse appears to absorb the blame. Never the officers. Never the misconduct. Never the broken chain of command. Always an abstract bogeyman: political correctness, unconscious bias training, diversity culture. And every time, the public buys it, the officers most likely walk, and nobody asks the only question that matters: What exactly are you covering for this time?

I call BS. The facts are these: Henry Nowak told officers he'd been stabbed. He told them he couldn't breathe. An officer replied, “I don't think you have, mate”. They dragged him along the ground and handcuffed him. He died before anyone called an ambulance. No DEI course teaches you to ignore a dying man. Officers have a duty to assess injured persons, call for medical assistance, and not take one party's word as gospel. They failed on all three. This is incompetence repackaged as ideological victimhood. “DEI made us feel certain ways” shifts anger from officers who let a teenager die onto a culture-war target. That's their defence strategy. Henry told them he was dying. They didn't listen. They didn't follow protocol. That's a conduct and skill problem, not a DEI problem.
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: A number of officers in Hampshire Police, responsible for the arrest of Henry Nowak, said they felt "controlled and pressured to feel certain ways" after receiving mandatory DEI training [@billcurtis0]

Over the last 36 hours, we have witnessed the very soul of Nigel Farage — his essence. It has been over a month since he went into hiding, since serious questions began to be raised over his undeclared £5M donation. A month since he appeared in front of TV cameras or underwent any questioning at all. At 8am yesterday morning, Farage released a video, from a field somewhere, calling for rage. Calling for an end to the mythical two-tier policing. Make no mistake, those were very carefully chosen words — he understood what he was unleashing, and his wish was granted last night in Southampton. On Tuesday, the Home Secretary made a statement to the House regarding the murder of Henry Nowack. There was, as always, an opportunity to question Shabana Mahmood — was Nigel Farage in attendance? No, of course not. Today, Farage was granted a question at PMQs — the showpiece spectacle of the political week in which the country's news and politics fanatics tune in to watch — was Nigel Farage in attendance? Yes, of course he was. He had somehow found his way into work after missing 77 separate votes in Parliament because … he would, at least for three minutes, be the centre of the country's political attention. His question was about the murder of Henry Nowack and the violence that erupted [on his command] last night, but he would not condemn it or call for calm. Instead, he 'suggested' that this rioting might escalate. This afternoon, he has performatively written to the BBC because someone on Newsnight dared to accuse him of inciting the violence — playing his perpetual victim card. Again. And there we see the soul of Nigel Farage — a craven, desperate for attention, evil, petty and pointless man. END RANT.

@HLTCO I think the thing for me is these debates only come up when Arsenal do something. I half feel proud that we are massive and people are jealous. But also frustrated that anytime we do anything we are the enemy for some reason

@HLTCO I think Declan Rice said it well. If we went out like Bayern did, we would get pumped 4-0. We lost because we conceded a penalty, otherwise it was a good game plan for this game

I appreciate it’s still incredibly raw but could I ask Arsenal fans; were you ok with the tactical approach or did you want a little more drive tactically? From my POV, I feel the early goal set a tone that forced you to sit even more than you would have wanted, that fair?

@dasstooshie @bigmitch978 @TalkCPFC Yeah I never got that narrative of rather Spurs get relegated than us win the league. Arsenal comes first and foremost, whatever happens to Spurs is a bonus!

@bigmitch978 @BarrJazz12 @TalkCPFC people’s mileages vary when it comes to banter. i couldn’t give much of a fuck what other teams are doing unless it somehow impacts my team - but i know i’m not everyone. saw some arsenal fans saying they’d rather spurs were relegated than we win the league which is nonsense.

@bigmitch978 @TalkCPFC But in this concept I'm saying I would, I can't speak for all Arsenal fans lol. I get your point and having good healthy banter is fun, but going to another team's parade is just sad in my opinion

@BarrJazz12 @TalkCPFC Let’s be honest mate, Arsenal fans probably would. It’s kinda just the nature of football fans. Also the key difference is that we have won the Champions League twice before and Arsenal have never won it so that’s a key factor.

@bigmitch978 @TalkCPFC No it would be sad. Focus on your own season. If we had won nothing and Chelsea won the PL, I would just not say anything and let them have their moment rather than point score for "banter"

@TalkCPFC Yeah but if you scroll online and see that a Palace fan had gone and was trolling them saying “champions of europe you’ll never sing that” raining on their parade, it would be funny. Good banter, no? I feel like you’ve got to be pretty miserable to think otherwise

@_shramina_ You realise that we reacted like that because of the crap we've taken from the media and other fans for years? We've had narratives against us and shit against us and we had the chance to give it back and now people don't like it lol

The criticism Arsenal are receiving now is partly a reaction to how some fans behaved after winning the Premier League. Had they been more humble a week ago, perhaps more people might have sympathized with them today. But that Gabriel miss tho 😂💀

@Lea_EFC I am curious why everyone hates us? If people say it's because of the online fanbase, pretty much most fanbases online are unbearable lol. The only fans I understand not to cheer on us are Spurs and Chelsea

@aliladiere No. Freak season. We won’t see anything like it again. Quite sad really celebrating a title that was won due to set pieces. If my side won like that I would keep my mouth shut. Still 6 titles behind Liverpool 🤫
