@deputyheaduk We went to the national space centre in Leicester in was amazing. We did go Feb 2020 so it may have changed. went with friends and their kids (5 and 7) loved it.
My 3yo has become obsessed with space - they’ve just learned about it in nursery and the amount he’s retained (and the amount he’s asking) is phenomenal! Anyone got any ideas how else I can encourage more of this? We are thinking a visit to Space Centre…
It is the last day of my first full term as Deputy Head and this gif sums it up - I’m buzzing and smiling and so happy I made the move - I love my school and the staff and the students - but also this is one LONG term and now I just need a nap! #wemadeit#lovemyjob
INSET Day 2 ✅ met my new colleagues, spent time with my new HoD, and led my first pastoral meeting with my team! But the imposter syndrome hit hard today - I won’t let the ‘imps’ discredit me and the work I’ve done though! Here’s to tomorrow and my official day as Head of Year 7
Slow start to this morning’s run, but got in my flow in second half - all ready for my first (kind of) day in my new role as SLT meeting this morning and then out for lunch with the new team #fitness#running#wellbeing
Starting my new school on Wednesday, and the nerves are kicking in 😬 Looking forward to an afternoon in London with some of my old school colleagues to end an amazing chapter!

Starting my birthday right this morning with a casual 5k - then off to Cadbury World shortly - definitely got that balance right haha! #fitness#running#wellbeing
It has been a very emotional last day - lots of beautiful words and gifts from people I will miss so much! My favourite thing today though, hands down, has to be the ‘Get Well Soon’ balloon from my HoY team as they accidentally got the wrong one! #lovethecommitment
It is my final week at my current school and whilst Friday may look like this 👇 the main part of this week is filled with Culture Days and Enrichment Week and trips! #lovemyjob#sadtoleave#excitedforchange
@misswrightdrama@RogersHistory That’s is a hard one!! Hated doing it last year. Then the last day I held it together until one of my form hugged me so tight and cried.
Is it ok to cry in a public facing role?
I did, once maybe 7/8 years ago, in front of maybe three or four students. I'd found out some bad family related news on the phone and it was a bit of a shock. I sort of turned my back and ushered them out of room - it was just after school finished I think. I was a bit panicky after wondering what they thought - they were fortunately really nice kids.
Anyway - What about you?
Getting it done before I start PPA. Today is always a tough day, can’t believe it’s 3 years since we lost Mum. That running definitely helped clear my head for a bit
Got a visit from a Year 11 after her last exam today and reading this made me bawl.
It’s things like this that remind me why I do the job that I do, and LOVE the job that I do.
