A5 legal decision will be Monday. This road has been the scene of heartbreak for too many families. The A5 must begin as soon as possible.

Met with DfI Minister Liz Kimmins today on the A5. Preparatory works have already started and the Minister is confident that further works will commence as soon as possible. The A5 has been the scene of heartbreak for too many families. No more delays!

Today, I stood alongside families who have tragically lost loved ones on the A5 to say enough is enough. Every day of delay risks another sad and avoidable death on the A5. I would urge those still opposed to this road to join with the rest of us and ensure the A5 is built.

The prospect of yet another legal challenge to the A5 is unacceptable. Delays will ultimately cost lives. The obstructing and delaying of this vital project is jeopardising the safety of the local community and all road users. The A5 must be delivered without delay.

Today is a hugely positive day for people across the island as the Executive have agreed to move ahead with building the A5. My thoughts are with each and every family who have tragically lost a loved one on this stretch of road.  Today is for them and their loved ones.
