The toy makers and video game makers pay a fee to the licensor, just as Marvel pays a fee to me for a Deadpool toy or game. And that’s after costs for manufacturing and distribution are applied. The amount of money that Sony keeps from the movie’s is significantly more than what Marvel receives from action figures or video games. Consider that PlayStation is owned by Sony. The ledger tells no lies. Also - most merchandise is utilized as a commericial, advertising per se, for the movie release. Windfall, Sony.

If Ned really remembered the handshake, then the spell isn’t working the way No Way Home established it. Everyone was supposed to forget Peter Parker completely… not have the memories buried somewhere waiting to pop back up. If that’s what happened, Marvel needs to explain why. Otherwise, it feels like a pretty big inconsistency.

The one issue I have with "Spider-Man: Brand New Day": Like in "No Way Home," Peter once again sides with the villain. Did he learn nothing from causing Aunt May's death? The moment he hears Jean Grey's backstory, his attitude becomes: "She was just looking for her sister, and I handed her to the people who took her." And with that, he rushes off to save the woman who bombed TWO BUILDINGS and helps free someone responsible for hundreds of deaths. Jean Grey is not a misunderstood victim. She is a catastrophic threat. She mind-raped and killed innocent people because she lost control of her anger. And when the Punisher tries to stop her, Spider-Man takes the hit for her. Even the Damage Control guy tells his soldiers: "No lethal rounds" when dealing with a FEMALE superpowered homicidal maniac. This is where Hollywood's version of empowerment gets things wrong. You don't "deserve" to kill as many people as you want just because you're a woman having a bad day. A person who commits mass murder is still responsible for their actions. Being sympathetic to someone's pain does not mean excusing the destruction they cause. Hollywood has this insane need to fictionally empower women above and beyond who they really are. And in the end, it doesn't empower them. It makes them look worse. Ladies, when will you speak out against this endless character assassination?
