My favorite part of doing PA & music for our high school is when an opposing dad's head spins around when I play old school dance music! What's even better is that the kids requested it!

If you “win” the silver, bronze, or any other bracket… don’t post that you won the tournament! Yes it makes the moms happy but you are lowering the standards & expectations of your program. /EndRant

As a player, you have to be able to separate your recruiting process from your on-field approach, confidence, & competitiveness. When you're on the field, it's not about who's watching, or how your stats will impact your prospect value, or what today's game means to the coach that is going to be following the box score. It has to be 100% about being a badass and winning baseball games. The guys who can separate and free it up even when there are coaches watching/following tend to also be the guys that don't get overwhelmed at the next level, under the lights on a Friday night conference matchup. If you're overly worried about stats, if you're overcomplicating your approach, if you're trying to change your game so that you will get you recruited... it's okay. Just go look in the mirror, and tell yourself to knock it off. I haven't seen very many guys have more success by trying harder. It's usually the other way around, and most players know that. Find rhythm Find freedom Be simple with your plan Accept that failure is a certainty Prepare better than everyone else Compete your ass off Stay true to your core Win with your strengths Same thing applies to college guys that are draft prospects, pro guys trying to make a big league roster, anyone that is working for something bigger. Set goals. Track Progress. Be growth minded. Just make sure to separate from those goals and free it up when the lights come on.

Youth baseball has a development problem. Players master drills… but never master movement. So when the game speeds up: late swings, off-balance throws, stiff defenders. It’s not mechanics. It’s movement. Build the athlete first. ⚾ Move Better. Play Better.

Which player are you? Below Average: Attends mandatory practice. Happy to wear the uniform. Always have an excuse. Average: Will put extra work in when feeling “good” but doesn’t grind at the parts where the game sucks. Legacy: Grinder. Puts extra work in whether going good or bad. Understands the price to reach potential. LOVES the game & has a heartbeat that isn’t measurable. Brings others players to train with them. Has ability to feed belief into others that allows them to play above their means.

If you say you’re a serious athlete and want to play at the collegiate level, no one should have to make you do the work. The work is something you choose to do because you want it. The work is something you enjoy. For many, the idea of playing at that level sounds great… but the reality of what it takes to get there is something they don’t truly want to commit to.
