When these two guys faced off a few weeks ago, Zizou Bergs was dealing with a virus and when you are ill it’s an extremely difficult task to play your best, thats common sense. Not only this but Bergs poor form this year is very misleading, in-fact he’s had injury/illness issues surrounding most of his defeats. I’m not saying Zizou Bergs is one of the top guys but he is certainly better than his level is reflecting. Also, this should be a stylistic nightmare for Brooksby on these courts, look Miami favours big servers, who can take the ball early and be aggressive and that is exactly what Zizou Bergs is, whereas Jenson Brooksby is a counter puncher and counter punchers have a really tough time on these courts as they can’t engage in longer rallies to grind their opponents down because someone like Zizou Bergs is going to hit hard and through them. Not only this but Zizou Bergs stand out feature is his elite return game, which is very polished and guess what? Jenson Brooksby might just have the weakest serve inside the top 100 so he’s going to have all the chances to smash through Brooksby on return, overall Bergs would have to be a big error machine to lose this for me as there is no clear way for Brooksby to dominate. There is one slight concern, I saw Zizou was at a bar in his instagram story today, obviously I’m going to think its nothing major and he was responsible knowing he has a match today and considering the fact he has to make an impact for his ranking I don’t think he would be that stupid but its worth mentioning I guess.
