Haaretz revealed, based on testimonies from Israeli soldiers, widespread looting of civilian property in areas of southern Lebanon during military operations.
The looting included homes and commercial shops, where soldiers seized various items such as motorcycles, television sets, artworks, and carpets. These practices were repeated on a large scale and evolved into what appeared to be a widespread phenomenon within the areas of operations.
According to Haaretz, both field and senior levels of the Israeli military command were aware of these violations, but did not take decisive action to stop them or effectively hold those responsible accountable.
