Aave V4 passed its DAO vote this week with 100% support. And the interesting part here is actually what the architecture change signals. V4 introduces a Hub and Spoke model. One liquidity hub per chain, with specialized spokes for different lending markets. The design solves a real problem: - Fragmented liquidity across markets on the same chain forced every new market to bootstrap its own capital. - Risk isolation was all-or-nothing, making it hard to support novel collateral types without endangering the core pool. - Cross-chain deployments diluted governance attention without delivering proportional economic value. And here's the larger signal: the era of spray-and-pray multichain expansion is over. Aave is in it's consolidation phase now. That's a thesis reversal worth watching.
