I had the pleasure of receiving a delegation from the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 19, Syndicate 4, led by their Team Lead, Uduak Uduak Ituen, during a courtesy visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna. The delegation is in the state as part of its ongoing security study tour. I was particularly encouraged by their thoughtful engagement and their commendation of our administration’s peace and security framework. Their recognition of the now famous Kaduna Peace Model, as a template worthy of study and possible replication, underscores the quiet but determined work we have undertaken to stabilise our communities and rebuild trust in public institutions. I am equally mindful of their observation that our progress in security, inclusive governance, and people-centred development contributed to my recognition as the recipient of the “2026 Governor of the Year Award” by the National Leadership Summit Group. In my remarks, I expressed sincere appreciation for their generous assessment, while reaffirming a principle that continues to guide our approach: that sustainable security cannot be achieved through enforcement alone. It must be anchored in credible intelligence, strengthened by inter-agency cooperation, and sustained through trust between government and the governed. I further emphasised the intrinsic link between security and development. Our investments in infrastructure, education, and social protection are deliberately designed not only to respond to immediate challenges, but to address the underlying conditions that give rise to instability. Senator Uba Sani, CON Governor, Kaduna State.

I had the pleasure of receiving the management team of Kaduna Polytechnic, an institution I am proud to call one of my alma maters. The delegation, ably led by the Rector, Dr. Suleiman Umar, conveyed thoughtful reflections on our administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition the education sector in Kaduna State. Their gracious acknowledgment of our initiatives: ranging from the reduction of school fees and decisive action against the scourge of out-of-school children, to the construction of new schools, the recruitment and retraining of teachers, and the steady upgrading of educational infrastructure, was deeply appreciated. Our engagement afforded me an opportunity to reflect on my formative years at the Polytechnic, where I acquired not only knowledge but also enduring values that continue to guide my public service. I commended the management for their steadfast commitment to preserving the institution’s standards and urged them to remain resolute in their pursuit of excellence and innovation. I was particularly honoured by the iconic institution’s invitation to serve as Special Guest of Honour at the forthcoming Convocation Ceremony and 70th Anniversary celebration of the Polytechnic, a milestone of enduring significance that I look forward to celebrating with pride. I was equally humbled by the management’s decision to confer on me the prestigious title of Fellow of the Polytechnic, the highest honour bestowed by the institution. I assured the management of our administration’s resolve to further upgrade, reconstruct and rehabilitate infrastructures within the institution in order to provide a more conducive learning environment for both staff and students. I reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Kaduna State Government to supporting the welfare of staff and students, and to strengthening the Polytechnic’s capacity to deliver quality, future-ready education. Today, I had the honour of standing shoulder to shoulder with thousands of dedicated men and women at the 2026 May Day celebration in Kaduna; an event thoughtfully convened by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress to recognise the enduring contributions of workers to the growth and vitality of our state. That this marks the third consecutive peaceful Workers’ Day in Kaduna is not incidental; it is a quiet but powerful testament to a renewed climate of trust, stability, and constructive engagement between government and organised labour. I was particularly heartened by the thoughtful commendations from labour leaders, who acknowledged our administration’s sustained commitment to workers’ welfare and people-centred governance. Their recognition of our interventions across critical sectors affirms the direction we have chosen. From the upgrading of 255 Primary Healthcare Centres and the reconstruction of general hospitals, to the recruitment of 10,000 teachers and 1,800 health workers, we have sought to strengthen both service delivery and human capital. Equally significant is the disbursement of ₦17.796 billion in pensions, gratuities, and death benefits; an obligation we consider not merely financial, but moral. The implementation of CONHESS and CONMESS, alongside our investments in school infrastructure and workforce expansion, reflects a deliberate effort to restore dignity and efficiency across public service. Labour’s commendation of the free CNG Bus Mass Transit initiative is equally encouraging. By easing transportation costs and improving mobility, this intervention has offered practical relief to workers and citizens alike, while reinforcing our broader commitment to inclusive economic support. Their acknowledgement of our progress in restoring peace and strengthening security across previously troubled communities further underscores the interdependence between stability and prosperity. I reminded our workers that my journey has always been rooted in solidarity. As a lifelong advocate for justice and civil rights, I stood with labour in the defining moments of our democratic struggle. That bond endures. I remain, as ever, committed to advancing the dignity, welfare, and aspirations of every worker in Kaduna State. Senator Uba Sani, CON Governor, Kaduna State. May 1, 2026

That Kaduna was described as the heartbeat of Northern Nigeria is both humbling and instructive. It affirms our strategic significance and deepens our resolve to serve as a fulcrum for unity and progress. I am equally grateful for Her Excellency’s gracious recognition of the newly completed and commissioned Brigadier Abba Kyari Banquet Hall as a space dedicated to dialogue and development. We acknowledge, with gratitude, the steadfast role of our religious leaders in nurturing peace, moral clarity, and social cohesion. As a government, we remain resolute; committed to policies and alliances that uplift our people, strengthen resilience, and advance inclusive, sustainable development across Kaduna State. It was an immense honour receiving and hosting Her Excellency, Distinguished Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, OON, in Kaduna State for the official flag-off of the distribution of 100 trucks of rice and ₦1.2 billion in palliative support to vulnerable households across the 19 Northern States and the FCT. The occasion was not merely ceremonial; it was a profound affirmation of compassion translated into action. I seized the moment to convey my deep appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose purposeful and steady leadership continues to chart a path toward economic recovery, social inclusion, and enduring national stability. The Renewed Hope Agenda is not an abstract promise; it is a living framework steadily improving lives and restoring confidence in our collective future. I commend the First Lady’s unwavering commitment to humane and inclusive interventions. Her initiatives resonate beyond policy: they touch lives, restore dignity, and rekindle hope across religious, ethnic, and social divides. The collaboration with the Muslim Intellectuals Forum and the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Political and Other Matters, under the able stewardship of Hon. Ibrahim Masari, stands as a compelling testament to what purposeful partnerships can achieve.

I was in Jushi, Zaria, to officially commission an APC Community Office under the Jushi Youth Progressive Forum — a project I proudly supported. The office, formerly an SDP base, now stands as a symbol of unity and renewed commitment, as members of the community decamp to the APC through the efforts of Mal. @mni_JJ , a committed Team member. This move reflects growing confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President @officialABAT/@officialSKSM and Governor @ubasanius . Grateful for the warm reception and strong turnout. Together, we continue to strengthen our party from the grassroots. KOWA NAMU NE ✌🏽♾️

"Kaduna North and the Limits of Imposed Politics" As Kaduna North moves closer to another defining electoral moment, the real shape of the contest is becoming clearer—not through loud political declarations or staged gatherings, but through quieter shifts that are harder to ignore. When you strip away the slogans, the carefully managed consultations, and the familiar cycle of endorsements, one simple reality begins to stand out: not every candidate in this race carries the same weight of acceptance. Some are backed by years of steady engagement and familiarity with the people. Others feel more recent—built around access, strengthened by proximity to influence, and sustained by the belief that outcomes can still be guided from the top down. That belief, however, is starting to weaken. Across Kaduna North, there is a growing understanding that leadership cannot be assembled within the short window of an election season. The recent surge in political visibility from certain quarters—marked by meetings, assurances, and renewed activity—has been noticed. But visibility alone does not translate into credibility. A question is quietly gaining ground among voters: where was this level of engagement when it wasn’t politically necessary? It is an important question, because grassroots legitimacy is not something that can be created on demand. It is built gradually—through consistent presence, familiarity, and real connection to everyday concerns. In contrast, the candidacy of Abdulazeez Kaka follows a different path—one shaped more by continuity than convenience. Long before the current wave of political activity, his presence within the constituency had already created a level of recognition that cannot be quickly manufactured. That difference is now beginning to influence how the race is being understood. At the same time, a quiet tension is emerging between what is being projected in elite political circles and what is actually being felt on the ground. There is still confidence in some quarters that outcomes can be shaped through alignments and institutional support. But Kaduna North is not reacting in a straightforward or predictable way. The gap between controlled political narratives and grassroots sentiment is widening. And history shows that when this gap becomes too wide, it rarely closes smoothly—it tends to correct itself. What makes the current moment notable is that the response is not loud or disruptive. It is calm, gradual, and increasingly intentional. You can see it in small but consistent shifts—the tone of everyday conversations, subtle repositioning among stakeholders, and the hesitation of actors who were previously more certain of their alignments. These are early signs of a constituency thinking more independently and adjusting in real time. Within this environment, Abdulazeez Kaka presents a dynamic that has not been easily countered. His relevance is not driven by recent visibility or sudden political activation. It is tied to a foundation of trust built over time. While others are still working to establish familiarity or strengthen their narratives, he operates from a position where recognition already exists. And that difference is not minor—it is structural. It also raises a broader point for political stakeholders: Kaduna North is increasingly less receptive to outcomes that appear disconnected from local sentiment. Any attempt to override an emerging public inclination carries risks that extend beyond a single election cycle. The assumption that voters will simply adjust to decisions made elsewhere is becoming less reliable. What is unfolding, then, is not a sudden political disruption, but a gradual realignment. The race, while still open in public view, is steadily losing balance. On one side are candidates still working to build persuasion and credibility. On the other is a candidacy steadily consolidating support through familiarity and sustained presence.
