Shortly before my departure from Abuja, on my way to the airport, I captured this unacceptable and what has become our reality as country in Maitama area of Abuja of a total road closure because a church is holding its Sunday service, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Maitama beside the Chinese embassy opposite NATIONAL UNIVERSITY COMMISSION, NUC headquarters. This is an every Sunday experience not just in this church but every major church in Abuja, closing govt roads because of a Sunday service. Just as I condemn mosques closing roads, I condemn this one too. I shouldn’t be deny access to govt roads because a religious community is worshipping their God, this is unacceptable.

This afternoon, I administered the oath of office to the new Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, having been confirmed by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
I wish Dr Darma well in this role and urge him to vigorously pursue and implement our Housing Anna Urban Development vision under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
