Children in deprived areas are most at risk of avoidable poisoning by medicines. Researchers examined hospital admissions for children poisoned with medicines between 1998 and 2018. Compared with children living in the least deprived areas, those living in the most deprived areas were 30% more likely to be admitted to hospital for any medicinal poisoning.
