Drought’s biggest impact on #corn yield loss potential depends on the crop stage at the time of #drought and how long the drought persists. Discover how corn responds to drought to help set your yield expectations: ow.ly/8GXX50KyRH6

Kansas @GldnHarvest #agronomyinaction seed treatment trials in Kansas. Can you pick out the fungicide only plots vs Cruisermaxx APX plots. BLB knocked fungicide only plots back hard

Last pass planting @GldnHarvest agronomy research trials in the beautiful Republican river valley. The lighter soils were forgiving, for planting but another day wouldn’t have hurt any. Perfect soil conditions are tough to come by this year

Forecast can make a person overthink switching hybrid RM. We still have low fall frost risk in most areas and the @GldnHarvest planting date trials supports staying with full season RM until last week of May. Moving 4-7 days earlier than max RM in last week of May is enough

@catdadd76769738 @GldnHarvest In south, avoid going earlier than 110RM. You don’t have to worry about frost so maximizing RM makes since, but you may miss out on 100 degree September dry down days so corn may be wetter. If no ability to dry corn you may not want to go much higher than 110RM

@badgerbean @GldnHarvest I’d agree with @sethnaeve that narrow rows is an easy 3 bushels but I think the survey points out grower perceptions as well as logistics challenges that impact best Agronomic practice vs what actually happens.

An interesting article from Farm Progress C/O @GldnHarvest survey on which practices farmers think will help deliver more productivity over the next 10 years. My list would be a bit different.. Thoughts? FYI I cropped out the adds and the corn stuff... farmprogress.com/management/far…

We were able to squeeze our Waterloo, NE corn input management trial looking at how @NKSeeds hybrids respond to @NutrienAgRetail and @HelenaAgri crop inputs. Anticipate big starter fertilizer responses with the cool soil temps and limited nutrient mineralization so far.

As planters start to finally roll, Nitrogen loss will be the next thing to watch. Depending on how quick soils start to warm and how much rain you get or don’t get, your risk will change. Nitrogen Considerations | Golden Harvest goldenharvestseeds.com/agronomy/artic…
