I was 18 when this came out and was the first Star Wars film I saw in theaters. I remember it being slow with all the political separatist talking scenes. Jar Jar Binks was gargantuan ass lol. This was pre-high speed internet so there was limited group thought back then. Scenes with Darth Maul were dope! This movie introduced the force push and double sided light saber.

I too used to trash this film. But the older I Got I realized how much it sets up. My favorite being that it sets up Darth Vader being one of the best pilots in the galaxy. They mention that a lot in the films about how nice he is with flying And little Anakin being the first human to win a pod race is the first sign of that. The things marketed for kids are obvious and that’s why people hate it but it’s for a new generation. It gave us duel of the fates. Dual sided lightsabers. And it’s still f*** jar jar binks And Darth maul who’s just MONEY
