Se me ponen los pelos de punta al ver a este grupo de católicos maronitas rezando el Rosario en el Líbano, pidiendo a la Virgen que los proteja de los bombardeos de Israel. No podemos abandonarles.

After His Resurrection, the Risen Christ did not first appear to the Apostles hiding in fear. He appeared first to the women and entrusted them with the most important news in history: “Go and tell my brothers that I am rising!” (John 20:17)🇻🇦 In a culture where women’s testimony was often dismissed, Jesus deliberately chose them as the first witnesses and messengers. Why? 🌟Because woman (Eve) was the first to bring death into the world through the Fall, now a woman would be the first to announce the victory of life over death. It was a beautiful reversal of the curse! 🌟Because the women stayed faithful at the foot of the Cross when many others fled. Their love was persistent, tender, and courageous. 🌟Because Jesus lifts up the humble, the “unlikely,” and shows that His Kingdom values faith and love above social status. This pattern continues in modern times: ✔️ To St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a humble Visitation nun, Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart, burning with love for humanity, wounded by our sins, yet overflowing with mercy. He asked her to spread devotion to His Heart as a fountain of grace and reparation. ✔️ To St. Faustina Kowalska, a simple Polish nun, Jesus revealed the Divine Mercy, His tender, healing love for sinners, especially in our times of darkness. “Proclaim that mercy is the greatest attribute of God,” He told her, and gave us the Image, the Chaplet, and the Feast of Divine Mercy. Again and again, Jesus chooses women, often the lowly, the suffering, or the deeply devoted, to carry His most intimate messages to the world. Sisters and brothers, this Easter season and always, let us learn from these holy women. Stay close to Jesus even when others walk away. Listen with an open heart to His voice. Boldly proclaim His mercy and love to a world that desperately needs it. “Jesus, I trust in You!” ❤️❤️‍🔥

This boy jumped for joy welcoming the pope in Lebanon in November and today they pulled his body from the rubble after Israel’s bombing. Last year, only 5 members of Congress voted with me when I tried to defund Israel, who bombs and kills the innocent.

The Church Fathers consistently say that all Christians—particularly the rich—owe their abundance to the poor, and if we do not provide it, we are robbing them. That consistent teaching of the Church is challenging for me as well, and I am constantly trying to find ways to live it out more faithfully. Detachment from money is truly one of the greatest sources of genuine liberty this side of heaven.
Joshua Charles🇻🇦@JoshuaTCharles

If Pope Leo XIV is a “Marxist” for his comments on wealth and the care we owe to the poor, then the Church Fathers are hyper-Marxists. Of course, they were not, and much of this is just evidence of how deeply corrupted by mammon our apostate society has become.

Pope Leo XIV: “The mission of the Christian soldier is… defending the weak, protecting peaceful coexistence, intervening in disasters, operating in international missions to preserve peace and restore order. All this cannot be reduced to a mere profession: it is a vocation, a response to a call that challenges the conscience. The soldier’s identity is forged by generosity, a spirit of service, high aspirations and deep feelings. But these values require a foundation, a gift of Grace capable of fostering charity to the point of total self-sacrifice. It is therefore necessary to inspire the codes, norms and missions of military life with the lifeblood of the Gospel so that, in the service of security and peace, the common good of peoples is always the first priority” vatican.va/content/leo-xi…

Will you join me in praying for the repose of the soul of Fr. Larry Huber? A great priest who I was fortunate enough to meet and play organ for Masses with. He was killed in an accident when riding his motorcycle and an SUV pulled out in front of him and he was unable to stop. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. 🙏🏼

Igor Pavan Tres, a 26-year-old Brazilian seminarian and beloved Catholic influencer, died peacefully after a five-year battle with kidney cancer. Even while fighting intense pain and undergoing rounds of chemotherapy, Igor used his hospital bed as a pulpit. From his room, bald from treatment, rosary in hand, he shared powerful videos and reflections about trusting Jesus, offering up suffering, and finding hope in the Cross. His faith never wavered. Thousands followed his journey, inspired by his joy and unwavering witness. Though cancer interrupted his formation, his greatest formation came through the school of the Cross. He taught us all that real faith shines brightest in the darkest moments. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Please pray for the repose of Igor’s soul and for comfort for his family🕊️ 📸faithinchrist

St Gregory the Great makes the pope's statement seem very mild in comparison: “The earth from which they were made is the common property of all, and therefore produces nourishment for all in common. It is vain for a man to regard himself as innocent while he usurps for his own use the gifts of God, which belong in common to all. Those who do not distribute what they have received are wading in the life blood of their brethren. Every day they murder as many of the poor, who are dying of hunger, as might be saved by the means which they keep to themselves. For when we distribute to the poor whatever they need, we are not giving what belongs to us; we merely pay them back their own. We are paying a debt of justice rather than fulfilling a work of mercy."
Haz 🇻🇦@HazThomist

Anyone who objects to this clearly hasn't read the Church fathers, who are even more fervent. St Augustine says that "the superfluities of the rich are the necessities of the poor," and whoever witholds them is a thief. Judgment without mercy to him that hath not done mercy.

JUST IN: Pope Leo XIV urges end to all wars during an impassioned homily at his Vatican prayer vigil for peace — “Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life.” “War divides; hope unites. Arrogance tramples upon others; love lifts up. Idolatry blinds us; the living God enlightens. My dearest friends, all it takes is a little faith, a mere “crumb” of faith, in order to face this dramatic hour in history together — as humanity and alongside humanity. Prayer is not a refuge in which to hide from our responsibilities, nor an anesthetic to numb the pain provoked by so much injustice. Rather, it is the most selfless, universal and transformative response to death” “Prayer teaches us how to act. In prayer, our limited human possibilities are joined to the infinite possibilities of God.”

A polite reminder that 135 years ago, Pope Leo XIII warned that Capitalism under the thumb of rapacious usurers would enslave men as readily as Socialism. Strangely, the frontmen of Washington have never been more openly hostile towards the Catholic Church.
Eric Metaxas@ericmetaxas

Marxist garbage, coming from the Pope. Perhaps he might mention how the CCP persecute Christians and crush dissent with murder and "organ harvesting". But that wouldn't play as well. Is he getting his talking points from Obama & Axelrod? YIKES.

Pope Leo XIV is not ‘woke’, nor a Marxist, nor a progressive, nor a leftist. The Pope is simply a Christian. When he defends the poor and the innocent, he is following the Gospel. When he denounces injustice, he is imitating Christ. When he speaks for the poor, he is repeating word for word the Sermon on the Mount. Those who are angry at him are not fighting with Pope Leo XIV. They are fighting with Christ. Because it was Jesus who said: ‘Whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me.’ Rejecting the Pope for being merciful is not something a Christian does. The problem is not that Leo XIV has strayed from Christ. The problem is that some have strayed so far from the Gospel that they no longer recognize it when they see it.
