@dan_p_simpson To what extent any of those questions counts as “stat epistemology” I guess is inversely proportional to how much I agree with you.

@dan_p_simpson What you mean by your probabilities/inferences, who else should believe them and what else do they need to believe and who can make what types of decision/inference based your analysis are they key questions.

@richardosman just finished the book, having opened it yesterday evening (I’m not a slow reader but NYE errands etcetera pulled me away). I just wanted to say, bravo! I haven’t enjoyed a book as much in years (or maybe ever). Also, thank you. True escapism in 2020; remarkable!

@dan_p_simpson So before you feel sorry for academics having to update their software again because Apple released another buggy OS, try to remember that the existence of the software probably funds a team of researchers and makes them some of the most highly cited researchers in their field...
