So my dad is a Muslim…….you know Yoruba Muslims now…..and my mom was a Christian. Growing up, my dad really tried to push Islam on me. After school, I’d go for those Islamic classes (ile-keu). @Olawaleonline I hear you. But to be honest, the majority of cases aren’t false especially in a place like Nigeria where nothing is straightforward. People still blame victims, shame them, or pressure them into silence.

False accusations do real damage, and there should be consequences to stop people from trying it. But that can’t be used as a blanket excuse to ignore or dismiss genuine victims. We need accountability on both sides.

Another girl of 18 or 16 years will falesly accuse someone of rape tomorrow and blame it on hard drugs. I can tell you that this girl is still telling lies. She probably wasn't on any hard drugs. She carefully planned the whole thing to attract pity and funds, but it didn't go her way. Was she on hard drugs when she was making the videos? Telling Nigerians that she drank sniper? Was she on hard drugs when she sent herself a message from another of her accounts ? This girl needs at least a little punishment to serve as a deterance to other young girls. Born on 22 November 2007. VDM appealed to the public to show compassion because she’s just a kid, who needs mental support. Mirabel lost her dad, and then her mom due to the shock of learning that her brother had died. He’s asked her to avoid social media and speak to no one. The whole thing it happened at Ikorodu. For her security, she moved to her ex boyfriend’s place at Mowe Ibafo, where she uploaded it and went viral. VDM promises to handle the situation and assured 18yo Mirabel to rest assured.
