Everyone's brain releases a chemical at night that tells the body it's time to sleep. In people with ADHD, that chemical shows up about 90 minutes late. So the wiped-out person still glued to their phone at 1am has a body that never got the memo that the day was over.
That chemical is melatonin, and the delay is common. As many as 78% of adults with ADHD run on a body clock set later than everyone else's. Doctors call it delayed sleep phase. It's the most common sleep problem in the condition. You can measure the lag in a person's spit and body temperature, long before a phone is anywhere near the bed.
The staying-up part has its own name. Back in 2014, a team at Utrecht University in the Netherlands gave it one: bedtime procrastination, which they defined as going to bed later than you meant to when nothing is actually keeping you up. The "revenge" version came from a Chinese phrase that caught fire online around 2020. It described people with no control over their day clawing back a few late-night hours that finally felt like their own. When that same Dutch group surveyed more than 2,400 people, a huge share admitted they do exactly this.
ADHD makes this almost too easy. Self-control runs down through the day like a phone battery, and going to bed is the last decision you make on a nearly dead one. An ADHD brain also runs low on dopamine, the chemical that makes a reward feel worth the effort, so a boring far-off payoff like sleep loses to an instant one like the next video. The phone wins because it pays out right now.
Then Dutch researchers tried fixing the clock directly. They gave adults with ADHD melatonin and nudged that late sleep signal back toward a normal hour. The signal moved earlier. The bedtimes stayed exactly where they were. People stayed up just as late even when their bodies were finally ready for sleep, which says the exhaustion in that picture is two different things stacked together: a clock that really does start late, and a tired brain choosing the phone over sleep because at 1am, that scroll is the only part of the whole day that felt like it was theirs.

ゲーム作ってる身からすると、バグは 「ラーメンの中にホコリ入ってた」 的なものだから 本気で申し訳ないんだけど 「どんぶりを左左右と回して、ねぎと煮卵を一緒に食べると麺がピンクになるんですよ」とかは諦めてる もうお前の勝ちでいいよ
