Which got me thinking: what’s your go-to festival packing tip? That one must have item, or even something you’ve learned not to overpack? I’ll go first: if you think you’ve packed enough good socks…you haven’t. Throw in one more pair. 🧦🤝

It’s a little damp in spots, but nothing crazy at the moment — a few days of sun this week should dry things out quickly. Overall conditions will mostly depend on how the weather shapes up once people start arriving en masse. For now though — full steam ahead. 🫡

With Okeechobee returning in 2026 — I found this piece of information particularly noteworthy: members of the original booking team from 2016 to 2018 are back and once again steering the festival’s multi-genre direction. As a source put it to me: “Super stoked about the lineup that’s coming together. OMF 2026 is gonna have the depth, flavor, and funk of those first three years for sure.” More to come. 🦉

A couple of Bonnaroo updates that some have been asking about: • So, where will the new Infinity Stage be in Centeroo? The word started getting out via The What Podcast and Reddit last week — and it's true. Infinity will take over the now former spot of The Who Stage in Centeroo, between This Tent and Which Stage. It's a major project, and some land improvements will also be underway to ensure the entire space is ready to accommodate the new multi-structure 360 experience. • What does that mean for The Who Stage? Well, it's going to have to relocate — but not within Centeroo. While the plan is still a bit TBD...the expectation is that it will move into the campgrounds (Outeroo) replacing Galactic Giddy Up — which is being retired in 2025. • What does that mean for Who Stage artists? It means some up-and-coming + local acts will now perform in the campgrounds on a newly designed stage...which IMO — I think is actually a good move — and should give those artists a chance to step out of the shadow of bigger acts in Centeroo + showcase themselves to festival-goers hanging around camp etc. 🦉

I did almost become a roasted Owl at Hinterland last year—but I can’t say I’ve ever seen a festival respond like this before. This is the definition of consumer-friendly practices and true peace of mind.

For those comparing it to Lost Lands’ Crater Stage, that’s not exactly the right analogy for what this will be. — This structure will be larger than any of the current tents in Centeroo, featuring not only speakers on the outside but also overhead and surrounding you for a fully immersive experience— the experience is more than just being surrounded by speakers - the audio from the performances will be mixed spatially using custom software from polygon live. It’s a completely new concept for a U.S. festival, after being test-run in Asia.
