Coleraine would go on to lose again after this, but we were the only team to beat them home and away in the league that season after a Jamesie Irwin goal gave us a 1-0 home win back in November, a result which got Coleraine manager Kenny Shiels the sack, but he was reinstated

Willie and Frank Hill played against each other in our club's first Steel & Sons Cup win in 1943 when we beat Glentoran Seconds 4-2 in the final Frank, who played against us that day, would later become a Comrade and help our club win two Intermediate Cups in the early 1950's
