@BdairTemp I hear that last point, they obvs look out for traits but I’m sure Knutsen is whippin dudes into form like genuinely improving body shape and making them expand their ideas of what they can do with their footballing ability

You're right but you look at these players and there wasn't a single player that was glaringly bad in possession. Under the lights and the pressure they were all thre technically, that's also about crazy recruitment

@slagasis I agree I'm just highlighting that even within a certain class of player there's guys who will take care of the ball and guys who will obliterate it. Like Tomori or Pavlovic are better than Bodo's CBs, but if they played there today Bodo would've lost the ball within 5 seconds

@BdairTemp These guys are basically all championship players imo (bar maybe 1 or 2) , it’s probably not even the best bodo side he’s had, gronbaek was their best player and he hasn’t been able to regularly play top division footy - zinckernagel was OK at Brugge and Watford too

@shayeeofschlime Oh for sure but I do think there's a difference between who would start and who has that baseline technical ability. Like Milan have 3 CBs who are awful on the ball, they'd all probably start for the teams below us but their technical level kills our ability to play like that

Barella has no impact in the game unless he’s in deep zones, but he’s not better than Çalhanoglu or even a better passer than Zieliński at #6. He has become Inter’s Ødegaard. Considering his wages and the status he still has, next summer will be time to sell him.
