Meanwhile, Mexican firefighters are providing search & rescue support to flood victims in Texas, claiming “there are no borders” when it comes to helping. So Misha made me cry, thought it would have been Mark but no. After my cas op he kept holding my hands and smiling at me. He then patted my arm and gave me a soft look. I managed to say thank you. Walked round to collect my stuff and lost it. 😭

Not to throw shade on the US government, but they have been rejecting science, stalling clean energy advancements, and even planning to drill for fossil fuel in national parks, risking irreparable damage to our climate. One way to fight back is to support companies that move us in the right direction. My friend, one of the founders of Mado Dynamic smart window shades, showed me the prototype of his new technology and I totally geeked out! It may seem like a small thing, but energy loss from windows is a huge contributor to global warming. These shades will automatically adjust to keep heat out (or in, depending on the season and time of day), even when you’re not at home so less fossil fuels are burned to keep homes comfortable. And the founders of the company are trying to create a product with a price point low enough to be broadly accessible to average consumers everywhere from the US to the EU and India.
