I'm Alice Guy-Blaché, the first female film director. I made my first film in 1896 at age 23. I went on to write, direct, or produce 1,000 films #motherofcinema

Honestly, Mollys thoughts are my thoughts, ha. I was especially delighted to see a statue of Alice Guy Blache rise up, she’s my favorite silent film director. Incredible. (But I am still baffled by who the masked parkouring flame holder was.)

!! ALICE GUY-BLACHE homage at the opening ceremonies. Cinephiles are living rn. #Olympics

. @Olympics featured Alice Guy in the OC. Love to see women honored. Alice Guy-Blaché a French film director was one of the first filmmakers to make a narrative fiction film, and the first woman to direct a film. From 1896 to 1906, she was the only female filmmaker in the world.
