@Harriwxu3 @DangerousThinkg That’s a big male gator bellowing. He’s showing off his size to scare off other males and the guttural growl is to attract the females. Normal Spring time activity for gators and you’re not in danger.

As a native Floridian I'm not afraid of alligators, BUT, my son and his gf were a ways behind me and anytime you hear that sound it could mean trouble.
