I hate it when people say things like, 'Yeah, I'll do it tomorrow,' 'I got you in 30 minutes,' 'I'll pay tonight,' or 'I'll hit you up in a couple of hours,' and then completely disappear for weeks, only to come back with endless excuses. Look, I get it—sometimes even I tell people, 'I'll get your edit done tomorrow' and end up missing the deadline. But at least I keep them updated and explain why I need another two or three days instead of ghosting. People just straight-up lie. Instead of saying 'I'll do it soon,' just say, 'I'll let you know when I can, but I can't promise a specific time.' That way, we aren't sitting around waiting and clearing our schedules for people who don't respect our time.

I have been guilty of this recently. Not to this extent but I have had to postpone several times due to irl stuff. It’s the worst feeling and you feel like a Huge let down. It’s all you think about when you know there’s someone waiting for an edit from you and you can’t find a few hours free to get in the zone. I feel for both players and editors in this situation as I’ve been on both sides.
