@MemoVanAstrea I actually agree. While I am a Re:Zero fan, I will acknowledge the literal fact that this epiaode is, inherently, just the start of their journey. If episode 2 were to cover everything before the sand distortion, that'd 100% merit the supposed 10/10 – assuming Whitefox cooks.

I‘m sorry to say this, but the first episode doesn’t deserve a 10/10 rating, let’s be fr here. It was a solid, but the pacing was undeniably too fast. That aside, it is generally pretty nonsense to rate the whole season when just one episode is out… just senseless glazing atp.

I’m saying this for the first – and hopefully last – time: Do NOT interact with me if you think Subaru is obligated to sacrifice himself for the “greater good” every single goddamn time, just to undo things, save other characters, or whatever. Subaru’s life is worth just as much as the lives of the other characters. The fact that he has Return by Death should not – and MUST NOT – make any difference. One of the core messages of Re:Zero is exactly that, and what this work is trying to convey to Subaru and the readers in the first place. His Return by Death IS and REMAINS one of the most self-destructive things Subaru can possibly do to himself, NO MATTER what fucked-up situation he’s in. I absolutely CANNOT stand people who view Subaru as nothing more than a tool. And I will NOT tolerate your “opinions” either, so don’t even try. Develop a little empathy first before you even attempt to get into a series like Re:Zero.
