Beauty of music and nature 🌺🌺
Riona is the dog who was doused with gasoline and set on fire by her owner in Memphis. She suffered severe burns all over her body and would have died if neighbors and the rescue team hadn’t stepped in quickly. 💔✨ Mallory spent every day providing 24/7 care for Riona — changing bandages, treating her burns, and patiently showering her with love to help her regain trust in humans. After a long recovery period, Riona has gradually become healthy, happy, and full of love. She wags her tail and shows affection despite the horrific trauma she endured. This is a deeply touching story of incredible resilience and the kindness of people. 💖

@ktboldy I am so sorry your friend who gave you help died. Dementia gives a sense of fear. When I was going out my husband thought I was going to get killed etc.. he was watching Andre Rieu. It gave him great joy. In Kent we have a charity who gives help to the careers Free

I did have a friend who sat with Chris every Monday for two hours. Sadly, she suddenly died Beatrice, and I've not replaced her. Chris stays in bed in the mornings, her choice, but it's more than helpful as I can get on with jobs. Chris has an unnatural fear that I will leave her, so I never go far. X

Not my Daily Diary Monday, June 25th, 2026 #DementiaAwareness  My plan was up at 7 am to plant the 300 summer basket plants we bought yesterday. I didn’t set an alarm so I wouldn’t disturb Chris, woke at 6:40am… said those fateful words: “I’ve still got twenty minutes”, and slept another hour! I jumped up and rushed outside without even stopping for coffee.  Chris slept on, so I got straight to work. It was 8 am already, and the number of plants looked daunting. It was a hot, quiet bank holiday, hardly any traffic noise, just birds singing in the trees next door.  I mixed 3 parts compost to 1 part John Innes No.1. Sister in law Jacky’s recommendation, and her baskets always look amazing, so I knew it was good.  I worked solid until 11 am, it was sweltering, and my shirt was soaked through. I finished every basket in what I grandly call “the kitchen courtyard” 120 plants done, which was great, though not quite the half I’d aimed for.  Then Chris was awake and wanted to go to Merry Hill. I was right in the zone and could’ve kept going, but not today.  She got dressed and was excited about going to the Merry Hill shopping centre.  All Chris wanted was a sausage roll and latte from Greggs. With no interest in the summer baskets. It breaks my heart, but it’s what I’ve come to expect.  The 10-minute drive was easy, with no traffic. The centre was busy but not crowded. It hit 32°C, so I think most of Dudley was sensible and stayed home sunbathing! …Where is my mankini?  I had a £26 M&S voucher, so we browsed and found Chris a beautiful white summer dress, I do love a bargain.  We got our food and ate in the car, which was like an oven, I'm sure I could’ve fried an egg on the dashboard! I opened all the doors to cool the interior, but the AC only worked once I closed all doors and the sunroof. Magic.  Back home, Chris slipped straight into her onesie and settled in the lounge, her happy place.  Dinner was Dover sole on mushrooms, with baby roast potatoes and garlic dip. Delicious, but Chris wouldn’t touch her fish. This has happened sometimes lately. I’m honestly at a loss what to cook these days.  This evening, I persuaded her to sit on the patio with me. It was such a lovely, warm night. It felt so bittersweet, just having her there beside me for a while. She lasted 30 minutes, then softly asked if we could “go home”. It’s so sad, this is our home, but the garden no longer feels like that familiar, happy place to her.  I miss the days we worked side by side more than I can say, but I’m so grateful for those 30 precious minutes. As long as she’s calm and content, that’s all that matters.  Have a lovely evening or day wherever you are in the world.  Keith and Chris xx
